Non Profit Media Membership FAQ

If you are a primary contact for your organization’s membership, use the Non Profit Media Member Portal to renew your membership or update your profile. If you have trouble accessing your organizational account, please contact Non Profit Media for assistance.

If you work for a Non Profit Media member organization, you can create an individual account to access discounts on member events, opt into members-only communications, and share your contact information in the peer-to-peer directory. Visit the Non Profit Media Member Portal, click ‘Signup/Join,’ and create an account using your work email address. Use our Cheat Sheet / Individual Profile for tips.

If you work for a Non Profit Media member organization, you have access to a wide range of benefits. We encourage you to make the most of your membership by:

  • Creating a profile on the Non Profit Media Member Portal and choosing from the member newsletters in the ‘My Info’ section. You can opt to receive general updates or information specific to programs like NewsMatch and Rural News Network.

  • Requesting access to members-only listservs and various Slack channels organized by topic.

  • Subscribing to our Friday newsletter, featuring research, insights, and updates from Non Profit Media, its members, and the field of public service journalism.

Ask questions, share opportunities, and discuss ideas with people at all Non Profit Media member organizations via our email listserv. For more focused communications, try Non Profit Media’s peer communities on Slack. To join the listserv, submit your contact information.

Through Non Profit Media’s Career Center, members can post a job for free. Access the Member Portal, select ‘Career Center,’ and use the drop-down menu to click ‘Post a Job.’ Once published, your job listing will remain live for 30 days and be promoted in our newsletter, reaching thousands of nonprofit news professionals.

If you work for a Non Profit Media member organization, you can access the Member Portal and update your ‘Communications Preferences’ to opt into the member-exclusive Notebook newsletter — our Monday round-up of the best resources for newsrooms — as well as other offerings.

Show your audiences that your organization is a member of Non Profit Media!

The Non Profit Media Member Badge helps your organization demonstrate to audiences and funders that you uphold high standards of journalistic quality, editorial independence, and transparency.

We recommend displaying the badge in your website’s footer or About section, linking it to our Non Profit Media page, where supporters can learn more about the values you share with your peers.

Apply for a travel stipend to support member attendance at Non Profit Media events, such as Non Profit Media Days or the Nonprofit News Awards.

How to apply: Access the Non Profit Media Member Portal during open submission periods. Click the ‘Product’ tab in the navigation bar, select ‘Apply for a Travel Stipend,’ and submit your application once complete.
